Nether fossil finder

Enter your seed to list the Nether fossils closest to your spawn’s Nether position or your own Nether coordinates. Each result gives its coordinates, distance and direction. The search runs in your browser with the generation model for Java 1.16.1–26.3.

About these results

Each location is a prediction from the generation model for the version you choose. It is not a check in the game. The model applies placement and biome rules, but terrain and later generation can still stop a structure from generating.

In the Nether, searching from spawn starts below your Overworld spawn: its X and Z divided by 8, where a portal built at spawn would lead. Each result also gives the matching Overworld coordinates (multiplied by 8).

Pick the version your world was created in. Structures generate when chunks are first loaded, so areas explored in an older version keep that version's structures.

Nether Fossil facts

Bone-block skeletons scattered across soul sand valleys. Their bones provide bone meal, and in newer versions some come with a dried ghast for raising a happy ghast.

Fossils sit on the valley's exposed ground and in its caverns.
