Desert Pyramid

A sandstone pyramid with four treasure chests above a pressure-plate trap wired to nine TNT blocks. Players come for its valuables, Dune armor trims, and the pottery sherds in a separate archaeology room.

From the Minecraft Wiki, summarised

How it generates

Generates on the desert surface, often partly buried in sand, with the treasure and archaeology rooms below the main floor. Modern Java follows the terrain instead of fixing the floor at Y=65.

Biomes

  • Desert

Placement values are for Java 26.3, in chunks. Biome and terrain checks can still reject a candidate. Pyramids are more frequent in Bedrock, but its exact placement values aren't confirmed. The mobs listed are normal spawns in the dark, not guaranteed guards or spawners. The update that added pyramids has no known official name.
