THE END · END STRUCTURES

End City

Purpur towers on the outer End islands, with shulkers guarding enchanted gear. Some cities have a floating End ship carrying elytra and a dragon head.

No screenshot yetPlaceholder: we have not captured a end city in game.

From the Minecraft Wiki, summarised

How it generates

Cities stand on the larger outer End islands and prefer fairly level ground. Ships float beside a city bridge.

Biomes

  • End Midlands
  • End Highlands

Java (minecraft:end_cities) uses a triangular spread plus terrain checks, so a grid candidate doesn't guarantee a city. Bedrock has a single biome, The End, which covers the outer islands too. Ships are part of minecraft:end_city and have no ID of their own. The ship chance is 12.5% per bridge, not per city; the overall chance per city isn't known. Exact height thresholds aren't confirmed.

Variants

  • City without ship · Towers and bridges can generate without an elytra-bearing ship.
  • City with End Ship · Optional ship has elytra, a dragon head, two loot chests, and healing potions.

Notable loot

  • Elytra (ship item frame)
  • Dragon head (ship bow)
  • Enchanted diamond equipment
  • Diamond spear
  • Diamonds
  • Spire Armor Trim Smithing Template
  • Shulker shells (mob drops)
  • Potions of Healing (ship brewing stand)

Mobs

  • Shulker
