Swamp Hut

A swamp hut, often called a witch hut, is a small wooden house that generates with a witch and a black cat. Its special witch spawning rules make it a good farm site, and some players visit to tame the cat.

How it generates

Huts generate above the swamp surface or water, with log supports extending downward to solid ground. They do not generate in Mangrove Swamp.

Biomes

  • Swamp

In Java, witches spawn anywhere in the hut's 7×7×9-block space; in Bedrock they spawn from one particular block inside it. Both editions place one witch and one black cat, but Peaceful prevents the witch. There's no chest. The loot listed is furniture you can take, plus potions from Bedrock cauldrons, whose odds aren't known.

Notable loot

  • Cauldron
  • Crafting Table
  • Flower Pot
  • Red Mushroom
  • Potion from cauldron (Bedrock only)
