THE END · SMALLER FEATURES

Obsidian Platform

The small obsidian platform where players and other entities arrive in the End. It regenerates again and again, which makes it a renewable obsidian source and a bad place to build.

No screenshot yetPlaceholder: we have not captured a obsidian platform in game.

From the Minecraft Wiki, summarised

How it generates

The 5×5 floor sits at Y=48 around (100, 48, 0), beside or inside the central island. Each portal arrival restores the floor and clears three blocks of headroom above it.

Biomes

  • The End

It's a feature, not a Java structure; Java calls it minecraft:end_platform. There is one shared platform. Coming through an End portal regenerates it; outer return gateways don't. Java also places it when the world is generated, while Bedrock creates it when a portal is used. Java drops the cleared blocks and container contents. Whether Bedrock does the same isn't confirmed.

Notable loot

  • Obsidian (mined)
