Jungle Pyramid

Page updated

A mossy stone temple with two treasure chests, arrow traps, and a lever puzzle. Players come for Wild armor trims, good chest loot, and redstone parts they can reuse.

This guide follows vanilla Java 26.3. Historical changes retain their own edition and version. Bedrock generation and loot can differ. Screenshots and verified seeds below retain their own game versions.

Where it generates in Java 26.3

Jungle and Bamboo Jungle are eligible Java 26.3 starting biomes. Sparse Jungle is absent from the temple tag. [2][5]

Candidate positions and rarity

Java 26.3 selects one potential starting chunk per 32×32-chunk region (512 blocks on each side). Candidate selection happens before successful structure generation; this is not a measured density or an average travel distance. [3][4]

The structure constructor supplies horizontal dimensions 12×15 to the single-piece generation path. That path uses terrain-height checks before generating the piece; these are placement inputs rather than a guarantee that every part of the temple is exposed. A sampled minimum below sea level rejects the start. [1][3][4][5]

What the starting position means

The temple grid has one candidate per 32×32-chunk region. Biome and terrain checks can reject candidates, so the grid does not guarantee one temple per region. [1][4][5]

A stone temple with two basement routes

The mossy-cobblestone shell leads down to a basement containing an exposed treasure route and a concealed chest compartment. The basement also includes three levers, redstone and sticky pistons for the hidden-room mechanism. Searching only the obvious chest leaves another chest position unexplored. [6]

A stone temple with two basement routes
PartWhat to look for
Trapped passageTwo tripwire circuits connect to separate dispensers. [6]
Main chestA chest at the end of the trapped basement route. [6]
Hidden compartmentA second chest behind the lever-and-piston mechanism. [6]

Look for tripwire before turning the corner

The temple places two dispensers with the jungle-temple dispenser loot table, along with attached tripwire hooks, wire and redstone. Check low across the corridor and behind vines before moving through it. These traps are mechanical; removing a mob does not disable them. [6]

The generator does not install a monster spawner or a fixed temple guardian. Any naturally spawned enemies and the two redstone traps are separate hazards. The lever puzzle is an access mechanism, not a loot reroll. [6]

Loot and rewards in Java 26.3

The jungle temple has a chest table and a different dispenser table. The chest main pool makes 2-6 selections from total weight 89 in Java 26.3, then one independent Wild trim draw. [7]

The Wild pool weighs empty 2 and template 1; a successful draw supplies two templates. The enchanted-book entry uses enchantment level 30 and the on_random_loot enchantment tag. Its small entry weight should not be read as an equal chance for every enchantment. [7]

The dispenser table contains only arrows: 1-2 selections, each with 2-7 arrows. A trap dispenser is therefore not another chest attempt for diamonds or trims. [7]

Compared directly with Java 1.20.1, the Java 26.3 tables differ. The inspected jungle temple table gains Copper horse armor, Leather and no longer lists Saddle; its first pool changes from total weight 88 to 89. Use the current weights rather than carrying older chest percentages forward. [7][9]

Loot and rewards in Java 26.3
ItemWhere the rule appliesWhat the data establishes
Wild armor trim smithing templateOne temple-table chest33.3% chance; two templates on selection. [7][8]
DiamondOne temple-table chest12.7% chance of at least one selection; 1-3 diamonds per selection. [7][8]
Enchanted bookOne temple-table chest4.4% chance of selecting the book entry that is enchanted at level 30. [7][8]
ArrowOne temple dispenser-table invocation2-14 arrows in total from 1-2 selections of 2-7. [7]
