Igloo

A small snow shelter with basic furniture. Half of them hide a basement with a villager, a zombie villager, and the supplies to cure it, which makes igloos a useful early find.

How it generates

The shelter sits on the surface, and some have a ladder shaft down to an underground lab. Terrain can expose parts of the shaft or basement, and the basement has no fixed Y level.

Java 26.3 uses a linear spread. Half of all igloos have a basement. The basement chest always has a golden apple, and the brewing stand holds a splash potion of Weakness. Java windows are ice; Bedrock uses packed ice.

  • Without Basement · Surface shelter only, with no basement chest or villagers.
  • With Basement · A hidden trapdoor leads to the curing lab. Same structure ID as the plain igloo.
